Rules in consideration of The League's Hall of fame-

South Coastal Men’s Hockey League Inc. Hall of Fame is restricted to a maximum of 25% of the active membership. Currently that maximum is 52 players.
Players in the HOF have a "No Trade" clause in their player contract that requires their specific permission before they can be traded to another team unless this is required by senior management for parity reasons.
After the 52 players ceiling is reached the HOF TRUSTEES (The original players in the HOF) will vote on those eligible each June.
If no spots are open eligible players will remain on the ballot each year until they are elected or drop from the league.

The executives of the SCMHL HOF (Kelly, Riccio, Hanley and Sawtelle) have the right to elect any player (within reason) they see fit at anytime regardless of these restrictions. Those elected will count towards the 52 maximum.

Spots open on the active list (52) when player declare themselves "Inactive" meaning they will not under any circumstances ever be an active player again.
Members can declare this or under some circumstance the SCMHL HOF Executive team can declare that for players they feel will no longer be active players. This will not be done lightly and the team must be certain that taking such action will not place the 25% limit of the 12 team limit is in jeopardy.
As of January 2006 51 of the 55 players are eligible or currently considered active in the league.
